Who are the Story Masters?
Professional screenwriters and directors with feature film and television credits and years of industry experience. Learn more about the Story Masters.
Do you offer Coaching Sessions in person?
No. We live online because our goal is to give learners access to the expertise of film industry professionals no matter where they live. All Coaching Sessions are conducted via Zoom.
What kind of things can a Story Master help me with during a Coaching Session?
Anything that has to do with writing.
Need help with script formatting? We can talk about that.
Need to know if your third act is working? We can talk about that, too.
Just need someone to bounce ideas off of? Yup, we can help with that as well.
Need an accountability partner to keep you on track with your writing plan? We can be there for you.
Or maybe you need help coming up with a writing plan in the first place. Yeah, we can help you do that, too.
What if I don't write screenplays? Can I bring a novel or a non-fiction manuscript to a Coaching Session?
You bet. We know screenwriting best, but our Story Masters have published other written works, both fiction and non-fiction, as well.
Can I use a Coaching Session to get help on other aspects of filmmaking besides writing?
For the time being, Coaching Sessions are focused on helping writers write. You are welcome to ask about other aspects of filmmaking during a Coaching Session, but the bulk of the meeting should be about your writing project.
Can I get a refund if I have to cancel my Coaching Session?
Things happen. We get it. If you have scheduled a Coaching Session and something comes up that forces you to cancel, we will refund your payment. But — and this is very important — YOU MUST CANCEL AT LEAST 24 HOURS AHEAD OF YOUR SCHEDULED SESSION in order to receive a refund.
If you cancel within 24 hours, or if the Coaching Session has already occurred, your payment is non-refundable (the Story Master can't get their time back either).
