In this introductory lesson for the first week, Story Master Nathan Scoggins lays out some fundamentals for how we are going to approach this first module. Directing involves storytellers understanding who they are, the stories that drive them, and the themes that make them who they are. It all informs a director's "take." In this first module we will focus on some of the questions that young directors should be asking themselves as they set out to direct a project, as well as some questions we should be asking about the story we will tell in this class.
