These days, it can be tempting for young filmmakers to tell stories that mimic the kinds of stories that Hollywood makes -- homages to science-fiction or superhero films. And yet there are lots of other stories, some closer to the heart and home, that might be really good ideas for you as you think about the film you want to make for this course. In this lecture, we'll talk about some ways you can find ideas that aren't bad copies of what Hollywood does, but instead true to who you are.
